The casino has had four names. It was first named the Resort at Summerlin, then The Regent Las Vegas, then JW Marriott Las Vegas, and in 2002 the resort was called Rampart Casino 'at the Resort at Summerlin'.
On April 22, 2009, the casino became the first in the nation to install an electrical car charging station for players. The system provided by EV Charge America is a subscription service that uses RFID cards for identification.[3]
The Rampart was frequently featured on the CBS series CSI:Crime Scene Investigation during the show's first seven seasons. In the show's canon, it was owned by casino magnate Sam Braun, the father of main character Catherine Willows. The real-life Rampart's logo was used on cards and signage for its fictional counterpart. The fictional Rampart was torn down in the second half of the seventh season opener.
